Jamie Foxxand Dave Franco star in the vampire hunting movie "Day Shift". The movie follows the story of a hard working blue collar dad who just wants to provide a good life for his quick-witted daughter, but his mundane San Fernando Valley pool cleaning job is a front for his real source of income, hunting and killing vampires as part of an international Union of vampire hunters.It sounds like a fun idea, but can J.J. Perry bring it to life?
Jamie Foxx is seen shooting at a woman who turns out to have been a vampire in the opening scene of "Day Shift". This then leads to a wild fight between them. This kind of ragdoll physics makes the action scenes really pop. I think the movie does a better job than most action movies on Netflix or blockbusters. When you watch a scene like this, it is easy to remember the old saying "action speaks louder that words", and while I agree with the statement, I think the key to "Day Shift's" success is the way it uses dialogue and action to develop the characters and further the plot. For example, after Jamie Foxx's character finally kills the vampire, he has a hilariously dry exchange with his partner about how he "thought she was going to turn into a bat or something." These are the moments that make "Day Shift", a movie unlike any other.
Day Shift, another lighthearted and fun film, was one that I really enjoyed. It was fun and entertaining. I enjoyed the humor and found myself laughing quite a lot. It also referenced some great vampire films like Blade and The Lost Boys, which are also some of my favourite films. The acting was strong, the direction was superb and the cinematography excellent. Day Shift, a movie that is both enjoyable and not too serious, is worth a look. It's a lot fun.
Day Shift is a mixed film. On one hand, there is a lot of fun action scenes and some fun characters (the two brothers and Seth), but on the other hand the villain was horrible, a lot of mediocre characters, though I guess that helps the better characters (this one) shine even more. There seemed to have been missing scenes. Bud's neighbor acts like she is a friend even though they only had about 3 minutes each before the final scene. Bud started making prank phone call after she got to work at the gas station. This was the best part of the movie. It was hilarious and it was so much fun to watch. The movie's rest was not as enjoyable. Day Shift is mixed. Some parts are great, and some parts are terrible. You could find a better movie if you are looking for some laughs.
The movie is worth the effort thanks to Snoop Dogg. Snoop Dogg is simply a great guy. He's cool.
